The International Labour Organization (ILO) is the UN tripartite agency dealing with all issues related to labour. The ILO has an International Training Centre in Turin, Italy, which is once again running a course for media professionals to help them in reporting on social, labour and workplace issues. Training: SADC Journalists Report on Regional Integration

Mid-career journalists in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) can apply to attend a training program on "Reporting Integration: History, Politics and Economics of SADC," from August 16 to 27 in Johannesburg. Deadline: June 14.

The program will aim to enhance the quality of reporting on SADC matters in the regional media, and will be conducted through theoretical lectures, group work and discussions. Participants will be given an introduction to the history, politics and economics of SADC and will deal journalistically with these topics.

Reuters: Multimedia Training Course in London

The Reuters Foundation is inviting journalists from SADC to apply for a course on multimedia reporting, to be held in London September 6 to 10. Deadline: July 15.

The "Multimedia Web tools for journalists" course, to be held in London, will teach newsgathering teams practical ways to take advantage of multimedia tools and methods for finding, developing and presenting stories.
